Foodie Friends Friday Linky Party #126

One week to Christmas are you prepared? Me, I am not really going to be doing anything special, so I guess I am ready. Although I haven't really got lots done, I love checking out all the links that have been left on our parties. I am sure there will be more today...

Almost Wordless Wednesday {link-up} ~ Roses

This week I am in Indianapolis or I should say just outside of Indianapolis visiting with my brother and his family. Their roses are wonderful... So, yes I had to go out and take some pictures of them.

Although this one is equally cute..

We need to start them out young taking pictures.

Almost Wordless Wednesday {link-up} ~ Random

This past week has been a busy week for me and my poor blog has been neglected. Although along with my long working hours, we did get some of the garden planted and we also got our front doors painted. So we did get a few things accomplished. This week is going to be different and I am starting the week off right with my Almost Wordless Wednesday Party.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

This morning we woke up to snow... What a way to start our Anniversary. 8 years ago today I got married in Togo, West Africa and the weather was quit different ~ way too warm and no thoughts of snow in the forecast. I wasn't too impressed to see the new snow on the ground but at least so far it is only a dusting but the sky was magnificent. It was a bluish - purple colour and even though it was snowing the sun was big and bright in the sky.

These pictures don't do it justice... but I loved how the sun was coming through the tree branches.

My Host Favorite

I am not a big fan of eggnog.. it is much to thick for me but I love the flavor in baking and cooking. I use it all the time and even freeze some at the end of the season so that I can have some eggnog baking during the year. Nicole from 365ish Day of Pinterest brought over a wonderful Eggnog Pie. It is also a no-bake recipe which is also perfect during the holidays when your oven is full. I do need to make this recipe soon and check it out. I know it will be perfect.

It's Chili over at Foodie Friends Friday #foodiefriendsfriday

Fall is coming full force here in the U.P. and what is better when when the temperatures drop but Chili!

It is Chili over here at Foodie Friends Friday.

It also is National Chili week and we are going to celebrate.

My Host Favorite

I am a huge cheese fan so picking only one favorite was very hard for me... All recipes made with cheese are a hit with me. This week I picked Cheese and Onion Swirl Rolls from Cynthia over at Feeding Big. I loved her combination of cheese and onions. Another big plus was that she made the rolls from scratch. I was hoping to make these before today but just ran out of time.

Fruit and Angel Food Cake are my favorite foods. So when I saw this Patriot Berry Kabob from The Better Baker. I just knew that this had to be my host favorite. This recipe also works great for this week's theme. It is a quick recipe that you can make and it will make a hit for any party. Great with any kind of dip. Thanks for sharing this.
